BTS-S3 COMBO INITIATOR W/ CONTINUITY TESTER

The Scorpion S-3 is a compact, rugged, lightweight solid-state electronic capacitor discharge blasting machine designed for dependable field use. It incorporates a Circuit Continuity Indicator (CCI), allowing the operator to verify that a complete circuit is attached to the output binding posts prior to initiation.

The Circuit Continuity Indicator uses a secure blasting-safe signal to detect when a circuit is present and confirms continuity with a green LED. When a circuit is detected, the S-3 automatically arms the electric initiation firing circuit. If no circuit is detected when the Charge button is pressed, the unit arms the non-electric firing circuit instead.

As an added layer of safety, the CCI immediately disengages after the Charge button is depressed and only re-engages once Charge is released.

Field-Ready Design

The S-3 features a newly redesigned compact case with haptic vibration alerts to indicate when the unit is armed. Its completely sealed construction makes it waterproof and impervious to dust, dirt, sand, and debris.

EIT’s specially developed heavy-duty push-down binding posts provide quick and secure lead line attachment, even while wearing gloves. Two guarded push-button switches control Charge and Detonate operations, while rapid charging allows for fast deployment in the field.

A replaceable 9V battery provides hundreds of charge/fire cycles and loads smoothly through the side of the unit into a waterproof compartment secured by an easy-on/off battery cap.
