Robot RATS Reciprocating Saw

The Robot RATS Reciprocating Saw is a powerful remote cutting tool designed for EOD robots, bomb disposal robots, tactical robots, SWAT robots, and hazardous-duty robotic platforms. Built as part of the Rotation Activated Tool System (RATS), the saw allows operators to perform aggressive cutting tasks without requiring any electrical connection between the robot and the tool.

Simply place the tool in the robot gripper and proceed downrange. When cutting operations are required, rotate the gripper 360 degrees clockwise to activate the saw. When the task is complete, rotate the gripper counter-clockwise to power the system down.

How It Works

The RATS activation system eliminates the need for electrical integration with the robot. A simple 360-degree clockwise rotation of the gripper engages the reciprocating saw, allowing operators to begin cutting immediately.

Once the cutting operation has been completed, rotate the gripper in the opposite direction to shut the system off. The tool may then be left downrange while the robot performs additional tasks.

Built-In Stall Protection

Integrated current-sensing circuitry protects the saw from damage caused by stall conditions. If the blade becomes bound or the motor stalls during operation, power is automatically shut off to prevent damage to the tool.

Once the obstruction has been cleared, simply rotate the gripper 360 degrees clockwise again and continue the mission.
